We know you love IH, but where do you think we can improve?

@deanclean Good things are in works, this very feature included, so you will only see the tag size relevant to you

Nice to know @AdamJ thanks!

Have you guys ever considered putting some of your most popular core pieces into production without snaps, and allowing customer to chose the snaps they'd like upon purchasing?
It's a small thing, but one that would be in line with IH's signature customer service.
Pimping options are great, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't passed on certain pieces in the past because I wasn't a fan of the stock snaps, and didn't wanna pay to have them swapped out.

@T4920 Given the relatively low number of snap upgrades we do in comparison to the default ones, it would not make sense to do so in my opinion. Not to mention a large increase in workload.
For example, when the IHSH-33's get restocked, a large portion of them fly out the door on day one. Having to fit the snaps on every single one, would delay shipping, and require a lot of manpower to get them done in a timely manner.

I just had a little rant about the crease/fade marks on the sleeves of some shirts on the 21oz Sashiko thread, so to keep the criticism constructive, I thought it would be a good idea to open up a conversation here on how this could potentially be alievated going forward.
Is this an issue that's been discussed amongst the crew in the past?

I know you hear this all the time and you'll probably ignore this message but I will die on this hill. You need to make Regular and Tall or if it makes you guys feel better call the Tall, Motorcycle Fit but you should make different sleeve and body length Western cut shirts. I've had to have so many shirts altered so that I dont have to wear EVERY single shirt from you guys with the sleeves folded. Getting sick of the same look. I've actually stopped buying IH button ups and going to other brands. That's how fed up I am with it. Still love you guys, you still make the best stuff and are the best group of guys. Just this one thing, drives me insane. It probably only drives me nuts because of how much I respect your brand. If I didn't, I would just move on.

Arm extensions?

It won't happen. We are simply not big enough to create tops for different body types. If we did, I bet none of our retailers would take any because of the complexity of stock management. So we would have to take them all, and we would be left with far more unsold than we currently do (because we would have to guess the quantities needed for more items, and we would get it wrong). That would lead to an increase in warehouse space needed and the number of items that go into the outlet, which would mean increased costs, so prices would have to go up across the board. It is unfortunately the case that some brands fit different body types better than others. The Flat Head shirts never work on me, It's a shame, but it is what it is.

Well said Giles and that has always been the stance IH has taken on this subject. The shorter inseam jeans was discussed a few years back but ultimately had the same fate.
I will add that when you see Haraki in the clothes he himself designs, he also folds his cuffs or swims in a jacket at times. It’s the nature of clothing that isn’t custom fit, even for the owner.

That was slightly different. We were making a special run of short inseam jeans, we had a lost in translation issue, and the opening ended up basically the same as if we had shortened the longer inseam version. Not what we wanted. So that project was put into the too difficult pile, at some point we may try again.

Also: for us long-arm apes.. we feel like almost every brand making nice shirts have too short sleeves. For me the long sleeves are one of THE top 3 features of IH!
-
@Tobi Hear, hear. Came for the sleeve length, stayed for the sleeve length

If there is a way to bring down the variance in sizing at all, that might be an area to look into. Some of the more recent work shirts I've tried on deviated 2-2.5” in the chest and 1.5” in the shoulders. Sucks to have to return items / worry if the garment will match the size chart.
On a plus side, buying direct from iron heart usually helps make sure the sizing is dialed in. But buying from other retailers size chart deviation is a real issue.

If it was easy, we'd have done it........

@Giles fair enough.
