I remember seeing the 2nd-3rd Star Wars, Indiana Jones, War Games, Back to the Future, and Teen Wolf in the cinema. Those will always be special.
I also remember seeing Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction in the cinema a little later in life… same result.
I can barely be bothered to go to a movie these days and think I and we as a culture have lost something with the regression of movie theaters. We now have more content available at home than we ever could have imagined and I spend most of my viewing time trying to find something I want to watch. Interesting how things have evolved. It would sound great on paper but I feel like it’s a step back.
Perhaps it’s misguided nostalgia.

@mclaincausey I recently discovered a fairly new arts cinema in Cologne. Decided together with the wife we need to go there regularly. It's definitely an experience I missed.

Hudson Hawk. Wow.
My turn; “We’re No Angels” -
And fuck yes to Masters of the Universe and Gwildor
-
Oh here’s a bad, obscure one I’m sentimental about: Reno Williams.
-
Absolute favourite film.. Masters of the Universe.
Other notable mention:
AWOL (Lionheart) - Jean Claude Van Damme (classic)
@Bailey isn’t it funny how that happens? I like Hudson Hawk.
Another vote for Hudson Hawk, and any old JCVD flick!
I'd have to put The Blues Brothers up as my favorite movie.

I was on a flight this week and decided to watch Conclave.
The whole thing was pretty predictable but it had some good acting in addition to what I thought was some amazing cinematography. A few scenes had a strikingly crisp aesthetic similar to Jodorowsky in places. I've definitely regretted watching other movies more on a flight. #lowbar -

Conclave.
on my list @pechelman maybe next week on a flight across the pond

A masterpiece, like “I’m a robot but that’s ok” or “Oldboy”.

@Matt had no interest in going to see conclave but since I was a captive audience with it playing for free and not much else worthwhile I gave it a go.
I thought Oppenheimer was an over hyped pile of trash. Felt like watching a 3hr long set of movie trailers if I remember correctly. Personally i wouldn't recommend anyone bother with it.
I'm kinda interested to see the substance after hearing about it on the radio a while ago.

I also want to see Anora, just seems to be my kind of film. Oppenheimer needs some effort to watch, and due to it's length and the political bickering was in parts a bit boring for me. But the filmography and acting is a real pleasure. Who hasn't seen Parasite yet, should do this. It's just wonderful. Exciting, funny, weird, beautiful - all to the right amount IMO. Tonight, it'll be Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance for me, since I haven't seen that one yet- The last (for me, actually the first) of Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy.
