IHJ-142-IND - 21oz Serge Windbreaker - Indigo

@flannel-slut The "Iron Heart Baton" made out of the same material as those save the ocean insulated cups. how great of a product that would be.
-
@jordanscollected - all great points.
I also have an N1, which is an XXL, and fits like a glove. But I sided with your thoughts on the windbreaker regarding layering and soaks/washing. If you're anything like me, these are the things that keep me up at night. Vanity? I think not.
I am also starting to trend toward roomier pants. In my early IH days (early being 5 years ago), I was locked into 777. But I'm 888 now all day, every day.
-
@jordanscollected haha “what do you think we should make” +1
-
@jordanscollected I’m excited for you. It’s truly unique and is gonna age beautifully
-
@flannel-slut Looks great! Creases set in nicely
Snow shoveling is an excellent break-in activity
-
@MTpockets thanks dude! Yea, the mustard hoodie is one of my favorites. It gets a lot of wear.
Regarding your post on sizing, I agree one could size down on this for a more fitted style, but the sleeve length then becomes an issue as, from my experience, windbreaker cut always has slightly shorter sleeves. So I’m glad I went with my normal size in this.
-
@jordanscollected and @flannel-slut
I was trying to figure out what you all were talking about with regard to the "baton" and the "baton fit" - am I correct in assuming this is an implement designed to beat off the chicks that dig our IH fits?
-
@MTpockets %100 this man. @jordanscollected mentioned it yesterday on the WAYWT and couldnt hide my enthusiasm in the silliness of it
-
@MTpockets I had zero idea what was going on either...
-
@goosehd - too funny
I've used the phrase "beating the chicks off with a baseball bat" in my teenage years, so I kind of knew where he was going with the baton. But it did take me digging into the recesses of my mind to sort it all out.
Sadly though I think we are only using batons to keep the other IH nerds away from our favorite denim.
-
@MTpockets the punchline is us knowing how ridiculous the thought is.
I’d imagine the bar stool next to you would empty real quick if the pickup lines had anything to do with Japanese denim. That or you’d get a drink thrown on your new pair.
-
@jordanscollected - I got the punchline. We are a ridiculous lot for sure
Most pp can't wrap their head around what we've got going on here. From the forum to the fabric - it's all quite special.

This was a concern of mine too. I originally ordered the black one in my UHF size (XL) due to the longer sleeves, which I need. I thought I could make it work because the chest size was the same as my L A2. I also thought I could use the draw strings in the hem to make it fit a little tighter like I do with the A2s.
However, the waist and opening were just way too large and billowy for my body, and the drawstring didn’t help as much as I hoped. So I exchanged it for a L. The L does fit better in the body but the sleeve length is right on the edge. Hoping I don’t lose much from creases.
-
@Masaz I know what you mean. I wear 4XL in all my IH shirts. I got the IHJ-60 in XXL and it fits like a glove in the body, sleeves are just long enough. Got the white Windbreaker from a few years ago in XXXL and the sleeves have always felt a little too short, the elbows a bit too tight.
I went with my normal 4XL in this IHJ-142 and I’m glad I did. It’s a lot more comfortable, with plenty of room for layering underneath and the right sleeve length. -
the jacket has landed! I am flabbergasted at how fast IH shipping is.
This jacket is a beast. I purchased a size large and it weighs just under 3.5lb. It is extremely dense and heavy but softer and more supple than my 12 oz serge right out of the bag.
The drape is spectacular and the raglan sleeves provide supreme comfort at the shoulders and across the upper back. The zipper is really hefty just like the N1’s. The hand pockets are not bulky at all and don’t affect the fit in the midsection.
I’ll be posting more about this jacket of course, but if you are on the fence, you just never know when IH will rerun.
I’m going to take a wild guess and say there’s something else in jackets or maybe a CPO coming in this fabric for F/W25.

@jordanscollected damn Jeff, it looks amazing and I can’t wait to see how you put it through its paces on the farm. Wish there was a medium still in existence!! Enjoy that thing!
-
@jordanscollected - looks fantastic! Enjoy that beast. I’m loving the black version. The early fades are quite exciting.
-
@SKT I’ve contemplated how to wear this. I’ll probably avoid full on farm use for a bit. I’m ok with dust and dirt but horse slobber is part of my daily life and I’d rather not subject it to it just yet. I’ll leave the house with it everyday for the time being though for sure.

Me again. I wasn’t sure that Serge jacket would pair well with the broken twills, but as you can see in this photo the chickens don’t care about my outfit anyhow.
