IH-1955S-OD - 21oz Selvedge Denim "1955" Vintage Tapered Cut Jeans - OD Black
-
^ thanks goosehd. It appears I'm in between sizes on the OD, so, short of passing on all dessert going forward, I'll try to find the largest 35 or smallest 36. Hoping for a restock in 2025.
-
@JohnM . From my experience the OD versions seem to stretch even more than the regular 21oz.
-
I bought my 888 od in my normal size. They were real tight at first but stretched back out quick. It seems to me that the OD shrinkage is real but not permanent. IH just doesn't stretch them back out for you.
-
^ that's probably a good thing Go For Chill
If the OD versions do stretch a bit more, as yannis suggests, I could probably make size 35 work. If not, 36 is the safe bet.
-
Looking at the chart you posted the differences are pretty small between the regular and od version. I would take the same size od with regular and it will easily stretch to the same size as the regular version and more
-
FWIW, I bought both the indigo and OD from this run, and I sized up in the OD.
-
@JohnM I have a pair of tag 33 indigo on the way from The Shop Vancouver. They should arrive Monday and I can update you then.
I'm of the same mind as you based on the size charts and ordered different sizes in each.
-
Congrats to those who snagged a pair. I was in the middle of Death Valley camping during the release so I completely missed out. Oh well, I'll get them in when they restock in a few years!
-
@JohnM echoing what's been said by many here. 33 in the indigo and 34 in the OD. While the waist would stretch, the other dimensions were unlikely to get where I needed them. I'll have to just wear the OD pair with a belt, no big deal
-
@JohnM Just got tried my indigo pair on. They feel about the same as the OD one size up. The waistband is a hair more snug, but I'd imagine that after a week of wear they'll even out.
-
^. thanks KA56 -- keep us posted.

I've taken 888 indigo and OD in the same size previously without issue. Managed to grab my traditional size 36 in this pair after a restock notification yesterday (have the indigo 1955 in 36 and they fit spot on). Little nervous how the new pair will fit after reading this thread. Will report back when they arrive tomorrow.
-
I've been wearing my size 34 Indigo 1955 non-stop after grabbing them in the Feb 2024 restock. After a little bit of hesitancy I decided to go with size 35 in the OD, and I couldn't be happier. Sizing up is indeed the way.
-
I sized the same as my (old pair) 1955S and I'd say chosing the same size was definitely the way to go for me. Definitely snug in the waist to start, but the right amount for me.

We have a divergence of opinion re sizing but a lot of enthusiasm for the 1955S! An obvious but important point about sizing up is that it’s not only the waist that gets bigger but everything else too. Given the width of the 1955 down below I’m hesitant to size up for fear they’ll get too wide from the knee down. This isn’t an issue with the 888, which is pretty trim through the lower leg. Here, sizing up might be an advantage.
