WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
-
@Mizmazzle Maybe visit Iron Shop Provisions.
-
@Mizmazzle In an effort to enable you as if you really needed any of that. Think of it as an opportunity to possibly see and try on things that you might not have access to in Denver. Sort of an IH recognizance mission/pre-emptive strike. Will you be picking The Saints this weekend?
-
@Mizmazzle Then you better bring those socks to The Big Easy!
-
First stop of the day!! On @jordanscollected recommendation.
-
@Mizmazzle wow that looks good. Tear it up down there!
-
we got stopped by TSA last year because I had 8 of those croissants wrapped in tinfoil to take on the plane. La Boulangerie's Chocolate Almond Croissant was at least 3x better than the ones we tried in France.
-
put a Parisian sandwich in your bag for later
-
Hell of a show at the Maple Leaf. Thanks @mclaincausey for the rec.
Johnny Vidacovich, James Singleton, and Michael Polara. Never heard anyone play the bass like that before.
-
@Mizmazzle Vidacovich is a legend in New Orleans music. Has played with the best and he mentored the great Stanton Moore of Galactic, who now own the legendary venue Tipitina’s. I didn’t see any can’t miss shows there or I’d have included that in my recs.
-
That is super cool @twin. I'll be that apple butter smells amazing. Looks like a good time!
-
@goosehd Hey I've visited that troll under the bridge! about 15 years ago. It looks a bit ....different these days.
-
@mclaincausey Vidacovich was incredible! He played with so much feel and movement. Every touch of his drum sticks was like watching a painter create a masterpiece. Incredible. Today’s mission is to hit a few records stores and find some music on vinyl of singleton and Vidacovich. Morgan has a friend who lives here and is deep into music. He’s recommending Domino Sound and Euclid records. I stumbled into Peaches yesterday as well but wasn’t ready to buy anything. Today is record hunting day!!
Tonight we’re going to BJ’s at the Bywater to check out some Cajun music.

Nice have fun! I for one have a viscerally negative reaction, almost an allergy, to two forms of music that come to mind: Irish folks music (sorry, anncrstors) and zydeco. I really, really wish this weren’t the case but c’est la
me.Tipitina’s has been releasing vinyl. Be on the lookout for pressings. I could see them releasing an old James Booker album with Vidacovich on it or something like that.
