IRON HEART FORUM MIGRATION - Help Us Make the New Forum Even Better

@AdamJ
Awesome. That is better. I forgot about adding links to home screen on mobile. This will work great. Thank you. -
this new forum is awesome! finally we can change our username!

The way I used the old forum was to log on and find all the "title topics" colored red and go through in order of however i felt necessary until i've read through all posts i wanted to. Not having them colored red on the homepage makes me feel like i lost my only navigational tool that kept my scatterbrain in line with topics I've clicked on vs topics i haven't. I vote to have that return

let me take that step and see what's poppin

New forum is beautiful and so far working well for me. I do miss Recent posts showing previews of the posts themselves though instead of having to click in to them. Only mentioned because that was the main way I read the site.
Kudos to the web minions!
Congrats to the IH team on the migration. I also used to love clicking on the Recent Posts and going directly to the posts themselves as opposed to a list of the threads... any chance the old way can be resurrected as an option? Or maybe I am just not seeing the way to do this.

I’m sorry @babyknight but the crew refuses to answer until you post an amazing photo of what you’re wearing today standing in front of an epic view of the city. Those are the rules.

I addressed this yesterday, and was told by @jtaylor69 that this view is no longer available.

I'd love to have the old view back, to be honest, as this was the easiest way to catch up with the individual posts instead of the 'active' topics.EDIT: funny thing is - the small block at the bottom of the forum home page still contains the links to the individual posts. I'm sure there's a way to access more than the 4 on display there...

@babyknight Not sure if this will solve your issue.
Whilst we could migrate a lot of data from the old forum to the new, we could not migrate viewing history. So basically the new forum did not know what you had seen before. So if someone posted a new post in, let's say, the IH-634S thread, it knew it was a new post that you had not seen before but did not know how many posts you had not seen. So it defaulted to the first post when you clicked on the IH-634S thread in "Unread Topics". At that point, the new forum knows what you have seen, so the next time someone posts in the IH-634S thread and you click on that thread in "Unread Topics", it will take you to the first post that you have not read (just like the old forum basically)...
Ditto for every other thread.
Does that make sense?

See, I'd have known that if I had that old view, @tody
That said, I think that things I post are rendering as new to me. No biggie, but I don't enjoy the smell of my own farts THAT much that I need to be directed to what I just posted
anyway, huge net improvement overall such that I was hesitant to even mention it--thanks Minions

Really like the new forum! Congrats guys.
But one thing is confusing. Why is every thread starting with the first post of the thread? @AdamJ
Makes sense on product threads, but why reading/ seeing the first post from e.g. „What are you doing?“ from 2009 at the beginning?
Can I change it? And just see the latest post at the start in the setting Newest to Oldest posts … -

@van-Olzon
On my iPad I can change the way you mentioned (Newest to Oldest). On the phone there isn’t this option. There you have to follow the way Giles mentioned above.

No but that may be my fault for not explaining the issue properly!
On the old forum if you clicked on "Recent Posts" near the bottom (even if not logged in, so the forum had no idea what you saw before or didn't), it just showed you the most recent posts made on the entire forum. It was really great as you just saw all the action across whatever topic. It had nothing to do with what you'd seen before or not. Have I explained it better now...
