@Brandrea spot on fit with the XL and I'm super happy for you to own this jacket. The collar when buttoned up (on my vest it takes effort) delivers amazing warmth in the coldest temps. I also love the "funk" that oiled garments take on with age. it may be certain oils that smell more than others, but you will always get a hint of something as it breaks in over the years.
That’s fantastic to know Jordan! Thanks so much for the kind words. I’m really happy to own this piece.

@Brandrea you have absolutely nailed it with that one. The XL looks perfect to me. I hope you are happy with it, you should be!
Thanks very much, I really do appreciate your help here. You may not think of it as such, but your comments really helped me make a much more informed decision.
I love this thing …. Now bring on the cold weather !

@Brandrea delighted to have been of any help.
What a weird bunch we are on this forum that we welcome the cold weather so much!

@Evertonman I'm 5'9", 165 and had to go with a Large, FYI.
-
ive gone over the sizing but i still wanted to ask for an opinion - if i wear a medium in a normal levis denim type III, and i want the N1 to be more slim fitting, would a small likely work for me? in pictures of similarly sized guys ive seen wearing mediums, the top area looks pretty baggy. again, ive checked the sizing out and i know nobody will be able to magically tell me what will work but was just hoping for an opinion is all from those familiar with how levis type IIIs fit. for reference im 5'10" 160.
-
@darbycrash I’m betting a medium would fit you to a T.
Look at the measurements carefully though, and let them be your guide.

5'10" 175ish here and the L is a good slim/trim fit for me. It's super comfortable with a t/flannel. There is enough room to layer a hoodie but it's a little snug in the shoulders at that point. I would say I have an "athletic" build with a few too many trips to the local cafe thrown in for good measure,

I must say i'm loving mine and it arrived just in time as it has been getting a little colder lately.
What i particularly like is the alpaca lining feels a lot softer in this version than the older standard N1 i have, which is nice (not that the older one is uncomfortable or anything, but this new oiled one is just noticeably softer) -

You most likely won’t need to worry about layering under it lol.

@WellWinn there you go. I just wanted to add another size comparable for dudes out there who are wondering ahead of the next “shot gun start” when the non-oiled ones drop! I actually ordered L only because the IH model Brendan is 6’3” and apparently wearing one. I have the good fortune of living in Vancouver so I was able to try both on at “The Shop”( btw) XL was the obvious choice once I did.
Anyway as many have said it is all down to personal choice. -
so i guess if you missed the boat on this oiled one theres no hope of a restock?
-
@darbycrash Did you check all of the stockists? Surely someone must have one.
-
@darbycrash not this year
-
ITS SO HARD TO ZIP UP.
I’m sorry I yelled. But it takes me 6 minutes to zip this damn thing up every time I put it on.
Insanely warm though.
-
Hi, everyone - first time poster
I've noticed people mentioning other stockists - is that feasible though for a UK based person? As far as I know, it's 20% additional VAT from anywhere in the world into the UK, or is there a way around this that I don't know?
Thanks
-
@Giles Thanks - I'll have to be faster off the draw from now on!

What’s going on with your zipper? I found this heavy duty two way to be easy to zip. As long as you seat the zipper properly to begin with.
I LOVE the over size two way zipper on this jacket. It’s one of my favourite features.
