IHJ-08 - PrimaLoft™ Quilted Nylon Jacket
-
@SKT Thank you, just constantly watching out for any gems that I can find in my size which is pretty rare I'm not sure if the insulation is exactly the same, but they're both insulated with PrimaLoft.
@sabergirl Thank you, I agree, this is a very functional jacket. I still believe that the IHJ-79 with a hood (preferably hidden/stowable) would be super nice.
@Matt I have to say, I actually prefer the diamond pattern of the IHJ-79. However, the pattern wasn't a deal-breaker, since this version is super rare to find, I was able to buy it for a very good price and it's surprisingly in absolutely great condition.
Regarding the fit: I've tried both the IHJ-79 and this in my size (S) which is what I'd go with for everything IH except for maybe UHF (I'd say, between S and M with a light tendency towards the latter). Both feel very snug and restrictive around the upper arms and armpits when raising my arms. Same with a T-Shirt, but slightly more mobility and relief. With an IH thermal/hoodie or a medium weight wool pullover over a T-Shirt, mainly and especially the arms (which are cut quite slim in both this and the IHJ-79) are snug/uncomfortable. I don't think that sizing up would remedy that at all, as, after trying both versions, I've come to the understanding that it's definitely the cut of the jacket that makes it tight in those areas. Thus, I agree with your reluctance of not wanting to size up. I believe that one size up from your regular size would/could look weird (bunching up, too long etc.) in all the wrong areas. You'd perhaps have some more mobility, but ultimately, it wouldn't be worth spending a lot of money on an ill-fitting jacket. I can report back more on my experiences and impressions when I've used the jacket a bit more if you (and others?) are interested and I don't forget

One of the best tech pieces Ih has made IMO
