Took a visit to Yokohama today. Only had time for the ramen factory and cup noodle museum. will definitely be back. First time in yokohama, really lovely port city. Thoroughly felt inspired by the cup noodle museum and it's creator's history.
Had to have two bowls at one go from different stores. would've had a third if i could…

Awesomeness,
Thanks for sharing -
cheers guys, the pleasure is mine.
@Snowy yeah it's pretty brilliant. pretty inspired by his story. only bummer is that i didn't get to do the workshop that let's you make the cup noodle from scratch. have some unfinished business in yoko too, like the nissan engine museum. so will definitely pop back there..
@Giles yeah, i thought yokohama was far from tokyo initially, but it was closer than expected. what hotel is that you pointed out? can you even fish sea bass there or do you have to go out to sea though? also, i've booked shibuya grandbell due to your, what i remember, 'raving' reviews for when i get back to tokyo, so i'm curious to see how it is.

That hotel was the Inter Continental I have not stayed there, but I had a meeting with Josh from Good Art there one morning, I arrived early so wandered around and saw some guys fishing from where the arrow points to. I suspect they were not fishing for Bass as Bass normally like very aerated rough water. But I know how they were fishing, so I will go back and give it a go.
If you catch the rapid subway, you can be in Shibuya in 40 mins from the station next to the hotel i sat in. The Monterey….
I stayed in the Granbel for one night last trip. Still my go to in Shibuya.....If you stand with your back to the front door and look up the hill, diagonally opposite is a Yakatori joint, you may see a queue outside, join the queue, you can't book...... Do it....

ahh sweet. Thanks G. i'll do that yakitori place and report back. i'm usually further away from shibuya, in osaki. i reckoned that's what made my trip to yokohama a little quicker

Has anyone else had problems with going through airport security with your heavyweights on? I can see the X-ray when I go through and I have had problems two times now where it looks like I have metal plates in my front pockets area. Of course they want to take a closer look, so I have held up the line while hundreds of people watch me get manhandled as they try to find something metal in the front of my pants… Of course they don't send the hot lady security guard to do it (if one exists). I was wondering if there is any traces of metal in the fibers of the pockets. I wore my sweat pants on the return flight today...

I fly TSA Precheck often so rarely encounter this problem anymore.
The new scanning machines, Millimeter Wave Scanners, often show false positives. These false readings normally happen around creases, folds, and thick overlaps. My 25oz IH denim almost always sets off these machines, specifically in the waist.Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

nope never had the problem with security. pockets empty and i always take of my belt cause that's the one that beeps. other than that, mostly i've been fine with boots, just sometimes anal arses ask me to take them off. that's when it's a hassle…

Updating this from Osaka now. This was about a week ago, last day for tokyo pt 1 and had some morning breakfast in tsukiji market before heading to queue for my goros. not much during the day as time was spent queuing but still did managed to visit RMC store and buy a N1 deck jacket i've been eying for awhile now..
Goros has a much different system in queuing since 2 years ago that i went. they now queue at 11 for a raffle number and you will be that number you get. and if you're above a certain number, you can come back at 3pm instead. pretty bummed cause the wallet was all i got. was number 82 and i've only got in about 6/7 in the evening and all the feathers were gone. i rather their 6am FCFS system..

Greetings from snowy hokkaido. the 5 days i was there, the temps have never gone above -2C. first day in hokkaido, flew in from tokyo… hit the ground running by visiting the historical village and Mt Moiwa to get a good view of hokkaido at night from afar..
The historical village of hokkaido has some really great mock up houses donated by people and it shows the old days of the ainu people presumably the native people of hokkaido.

great post nizzel! between your both pairs, i'd say the SI looks much better at this point. this haven't seen much wear have they?

Thanks @louisbosco . My UHR have only been worn for 88 days compared to the 204 days the 666SII have been worn.

Hit Niseko for the day. Fresh powder and really cold weather for the day. The low was about -13 and tops was probably about -4. I'm by no means a good snowboarder, probably have only done it a handful of times, very underprepared this time and should definitely invest in a gopro for future use. Powder in niseko was really good, hit Hanazono's Silver dream course and Hirafu for 1 night run. Fresh powder kept coming down during the day and into the night so it was really good.
