The crew are pretty good at measuring, it's one of the things they do every day and is a key component of their job. So it always irks us, when a customer accuses us of mismeasuring (usually because they've screwed up themselves or they said they measured as we do, then it turns out they didn't).  Or it could be because of this, I grabbed the image from the web, but measuring tapes are often inaccurate and cheap plastic one's stretch with use…

I have friends who own and operate a flooring company and used to have an employee who swore up and down that an inch had 17 tick marks in it…(17/16).  They tried numerous times to explain you can't start and end on the inch mark...He didn't last very long.

never trust the end of the tape unless you've verified it

Pretty common to "burn an inch" on any sort of rule and start measuring at the 1" marker. Just have to remembered to subtract at the end.

We have a friend who is very senior in the army and Paula and I have been invited to Horse Guards Parade on Monday for the queen' funeral.

I sent her a note this morning….

Understand we have invited to the ceremony on Monday, unfortunately, I will be in Morocco until the following week.  Any chance of postponing until I am back?  If not, I understand, but thanks anyway....G

Patching holes in the drywall…went to the lumber yard for 1/2” drywall for patches.  Told the guy I need 1/2”, picked up the sheet and didn’t double check the dimension.  Got 3/8” drywall….back to the yard…25 minute drive each way.

I was watching Gomorrah on the trip over last night. There was a comment that hit home to me about the wanton destruction of our planet. It was in relation to farmers taking bribes to bury hazardous waste on their land.

I love when UPS bullshits their delivery especially when ppl are home, door wide open with everyone able to look past the screen door, and claim they can’t deliver bc no one was home.

@RoxRocks86  I didn’t think it could be physically possible, but I think we must have the same UPS driver.  Happens to me all the time, and the best excuse for a missed delivery was the driver couldn’t find my physical address even though they deliver here every couple of weeks for various items.

It happened to me again today where they claimed to attempt delivery…I work from home, office is on the driveway side of the house, and I have a camera setup for the driveway…
