Ah ok. in Achee's post he had called it brown dress, so I was quite confused.
for my custom BH im going with brown dress for the toe and heel, Ive been trying to find any good pictures of a pair of white's in black bison, because ive been thinking of having that on the shaft of the boot. i thought about doing the shaft in brown bison, but i think having brown bison and brown dress together like that might not look too great.
any opinions on my build or pictures of black bison?

Depends on your requirements, bison is a nice looking leather but if you want a genuine hard wearing boot which will outlive you don't stray from dress leather. Nothing beats it for durability in my opinion.

My boots are brown dress leather, not CXL. I think the matte finish in the pics may be because of the crappy fluorescent lighting at my office. They are a bit more shiny then in the pic (although not as shiny as the comparison pic). The leather looks like it will buff up shinier over time and with use.

Hey up Folks! New poster here. Just wanting to share a few pics of some recent acquisitions.
Earlier this month I was fortunate enough to visit the great state of Oregon, and whilst there visit a few, well rather boot obsessed places.
It was during my visit to Baker's Boots & Clothing in Eugene, that my first purchase was made.
I must begin by saying what an absolute gentlemen Kyle at Baker's boots is. Putting aside his incredible knowledge of the product. His friendliness and helpfulness could not have gone further, needless to say all of my future purchases of the boot variety will go through him.
After a quick browse of their deceptively large showroom is was onto the boots. First a measuring up and then onto what they had in stock in my size. Two pairs were produced. First a pair of Semi dress in British tan with toe cap. Nice, but a little on the small size at 8.5, plus with only a leather sole and six months of wet or worse British pavements ahead they were wisely ruled out. Then finally as if I'd specced them myself. The following were produced. Size 9E, Check. Natural edge, check. Vibram 430 sole, check. Kick ass colour, check. Fit like a dream, check.
I couldn't be more pleased.
Burgundy CXL Bounty Hunters.
