Son is out of school today so taking him to see Godzilla Minus One in the theater. Will report
-
@flannel-slut I watched this with some out of town guests this weekend and I was the only one that liked it. It was miles over the top at some points, but holy crap what a ride they take you on.
-
@jordanscollected haha, thatโll teach them to visit you again! And completely agree, while zero urge to give it a second viewing, definitely appreciate a movie that is able to evoke emotionโฆ what a ride indeed

Forgot to post a follow up about Godzilla Minus One. We had a blast and both thought it was great. Seeing it in Japanese with subtitles is key. I can see why it won the academy award for VFX and there was some great interview footage with the filmmakers. Highly recommend

My wife wanted to watch โMy Old Assโ (Amazon prime). I didnโt know anything about it but Iโm a fan of Aubrey Plaza so we gave it a go. We both absolutely loved it. Sweet and funny coming of age movie that was truly touching by the end. It was filmed around Muskoka lake in Canadaโฆsome of the most beautiful landscapes Iโve ever seen and now we both want to go. I think it touched us because our kids will be that โleaving homeโ age pretty soon and it perfectly captured that bittersweet feeling

I like that one a lot. Do you know 'Hearts of Darkness', the documentary film about the production of Apocalypse Now?
-
@flannel-slut watched this yesterday... never been more disturbed by a piece of media in my life!
Thoroughly enjoyed, but never wanna see it again...
-
@endo one of my better English teachers in high school had assigned us Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Apocalypse Now, brilliant adaptation.
-
@T4920 ๐ซ Holy. Shit. The Substance.
-
Haha man I canโt wait to see this one. Gonna have to wait until the ladyโs out of town, Iโm guessing. To her, Gremlins might as well be Saw.
-
Donโt watch many movies these days but have seen some on the plane of late
Hit Man: B-, helped by the setting in New Orleans
Deadpool x Wolverine: B+, over the top, ridiculous, had some funny moments
Twisters: A-, really fun flickโฆ surprisingly so

@flannel-slut Came here to basically say the same. When I spent half a year in the UK, going to school there, we read that, too. Makes you admire the film adaption even more.
-
@Mister_Brue always appreciate a โsteer clear fromโ experience. We watched Wolfs the other night, holding out hope for a fun ride like bullet train but just another throwaway.
@mclaincausey will have to remember keep twister in mind for a family movie night.
-
Started Wolfs and was bored pretty quickly.
-
That's the time of the year when I have to watch this, ... at least once, ... again. Not funny. Fuck yourself!
-
Just watched Romulus and thoroughly enjoyed it. Surprised by how good it was, and the cinematography was amazing. Def was more than a rehash of a throwback.

I fecking paid $6.99 on Prime to watch Let's Start a Cult, a movie that Stavros Halkias made. This was hands down the worst movie I have seen in a long time. So bad. Which sucks because I listen to his podcast and love his Ronnie character he does on his Instagram whe he talks about the Baltimore Ravens. Now I don't even know if I can listen to his pod anymore after this movie. Terrible acting and poorly made all around. Disappointing waste of money I was looking forward to it too. End rant.
