Thanks buddy enjoy your vacation! Slipons are great, only my girlfriend hates them

Got these today in the Mail, bit snug but very comfy to walk on the thick soles. Bought them for running but somehow think they look cool with my denim also.

Opinions on Doek shoes? Thinking of picking up a pair of their indigo court sneakers, the positive effects that come with the indigo dye they use is pretty cool.“ Indigo-dyed threads are woven on an original canvas using an old-fashioned power loom. Indigo dyeing, which uses Tadeai as a dye, is said to have deodorizing, antibacterial, anti-ultraviolet, and anti-insect effects. It is also said to be craftwork that is filled with the wisdom of predecessors.”

@spleef_oner I believe they are made by moonstar so should be same quality as shoes like pottery, lofgren sneakers or IH sneakers... To be honest I think you pay a lot of money for the "Made in Japan" slogan, make of that what you want. They are all better made than Converse but I don't feel like they are worlds apart. Still love all my moonstar made sneakers and don't regret paying more...
-
@FlavourFade ah right on, I didn’t realize they were made by moonstar, thanks for the info! I did find doek court sneakers for $85, which isn’t much different in pricing than converse 70, there is some shipping to take into account as they’re coming from Japan but it isn’t too bad.

Salomon S-Lab Ultra 3 lightweight trail runners. Really like these sneaks. Comfy, light and perfect for warmer weather.

my favorite sneakers are 'shoes like pottery'
In fact I bought my first pair 4 years ago and they are still good to wear to this day. They where on sale on END. so I bought the same pair again. -
@scarfmace need a pair, keep looking for good deals, so sick man
-
@scarfmace but they're not black ... ?
-
@endo Funny you should mention it, the old pair have just undergone a black dye treatment. I'm very pleased with the result, I'll post a pic later.
-
So this is my 4 year old pair of 'shoes like pottery'. They used to be white but I did a black machine dye a couple nights ago. I love how they turned out, its not 100% black but the coulor has some eggplant vibe to it. Will prob wear them till I get a hole in my sole.

For anyone interested in how tough the Shoes Like Pottery sneakers are, I bought my first pair for £25 off eBay 2 years ago and they were well worn to say the least.. I liked them so much I bought two new pairs and.. I haven’t had chance to wear them yet. The well worn £25 pair still looks exactly the same as when I bought them and they have been worn pretty much constantly for two years.
The new ones I purchased directly from the goodweaver.jp website for £52 while Rivet & Hide sell them for £145. They also stock the full range of indigo Doek sneakers for £68 which are £145 on the Drakes website.

@jerkules I was worried about that myself and I don’t know what sorcery SLP use but somehow my well worn pair are still super grippy. I’ll add a couple of pics of their current condition to this post.
The one time I have slipped in them I was carrying a huge bunch of helium filled Peppa Pig balloons on my way into a kids party and stupidly decided to take a small shortcut out of a car park down a steep grass slope (which was way muddier than I anticipated) and skidded down a good ten foot of it without decking it.. I just wish someone had happened to have being filming it
-
@jerkules - also find them very grippy myself. They are incredibly well built. The only reason i’m not wearing them as often as novestas is that after a long walk(and i walk a lot) the ball pf my right foot starts to ache. Weird thing, dont have it with other boots or sneakers. But definitely recommended shoes quality wise

@jerkules I work as a store manager in food retail what means running around a lot, 15-20k steps a day. My whole store has tiles which are often a bit slippery but I never had an issue with the SLP. The only thing bothers me a little bit is the thin sole, makes my feet sore after a whole day of wearing them
