Wow, memories.
Once upon a time, all the retailers would go to Tokyo at the same 2 times every year to see the collections, and boy did we have some parties. One year I said, one more day of this and I'll be flying home in a coffin.... Then Clutch Collection put on their show in Yokohama at a completely different time (with no reference or due regard to the brands) and completely fucked everything up. The retailers just did not know when to hit Japan and it all got bitty and messy. Haraki decided to go to the first Cluth Collection show. On the final day, he asked Sarina to ask me what I thought of the show. I said "a complete waste of fucking time for us. What does Haraki think?. She asked him and said "he says exactly the same thing" - we did not go again.
Many of the established retailers did not like Clutch either. They had made their success by hunting out the brands on forays into Japan, then Clutch put all the brands in one place and any Tom, Dick or Harry could find the brands without putting in the effort.
I know times change and progress is progress. But it is a completely different landscape now....

Anyone have an undershirt/tank top recommendation? I purchased a ship John 2 pack years ago and LOVE em over the disposable hanes/fruit looms but they’ve been sold out for some time and looking to add more quality to replace the quantity
-
@flannel-slut The Whitesville 2 pack under shirts are great, they are T-shirts rather than tank tops but are sold as an under shirt. Quite thin and very soft and look just as good worn without anything over them. I bought the white, then very quickly added the grey, black and navy

@flannel-slut i got the tip from @Daniel-San for schiesser singlets and these are amazing! The 95/5 cotton ones amazing fit

@DeeDee85 thanks for sharing brother. I miss directed by including undershirt in my post. Heard good things from Whitesville in terms of quality and bang for your buck but really looking for a quality tank top

To cuff or not? (I am talking about demin shorts.)I never cut a pair of my heavy IH denim down into shorts, but i am going to do with an old pair off 666. Should i go 13 inch inseam to the top of my knee cap so i can cuff them or go shorter? Dont want to pay to get them hemmed twice locally.
-
@Nittpics That is a really hard question to answer. I think it all boils down to your preferences and the look that you're going for. You might try measuring a pair of shorts that you currently own and playing around with the hem length until you find what you're looking for in terms of length and styling.
-
@Nittpics I like the cuff look on others but I would avoid it myself. My white AF basically hairless legs need no attention drawn to them. so there it is, a useless bit of info added. Personal preference it is.
-
Do a turn up, that way you have a cuff and the unfinished hem. Best of both worlds and not as “clean” looking as a regular cuff or finished hem. Also the length should be able to accommodate no cuff as well since it’s just a turn up.
Best to avoid the suburban dad jorts white sneakers look when wearing denim shorts.
-
Could have gone just slightly longer, but not too bad. Doubt I’ll cuff due to taper of the 666.
666 18oz

Dont think we ever tried a 25oz Type III, it's that challenging, H just says no.
The original Johnny Cash was conceived to be made out of 21oz non-fade superblack. We made a sample (the seriously skilled seamstresses work in sampling), but just could not make it to a decent, predictable quality in production. We eventually released it is 16oz...
