@endo There are 2 states that opened up to Recreational in my area(New York, and New Jersey) and both have made an effort to give dispensary licenses to people of certain minority groups who may have been disproportionally effected by The War on Drugs over here. So far it seems to have worked out well. There are also several women run dispensaries and farms. Anything like that where you are? After a little over a year the prices have started to come down,and while the quality isn't as good as states like California and Colorado,it's been on the improve as well. I was in a dispensary on 4/20 and they couldn't have been making money any faster if they printed it themselves. It was quite a festive atmosphere.

This world is so stupid. Tobacco and alcohol ruin livers, lungs, and lives while comparatively innocuous cannabis gets criminalized. Glad the tide is turning but the fact that so many lives have been ruined over the years by such a stupid prohibition is a grave injustice.

@mclaincausey I concur,I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit miffed,after telling us,for all these years, that marijuana was a gateway drug,and NOW they want to be the dealer. Progress nonetheless.

@sabergirl ketchup is wonderful in its place (burgers, fries), just never on a bacon sandwich.

In my years of drugging, never once did I get high on weed and think man, I could really use some blow right about now. It was always alcohol. Every. Single. Time. In fact, I've never done hard drugs without the drunk precursor. Booze is the real gateway drug.

@Mizmazzle @Oaktavia weed’s a gateway alright. A gateway to Swedish Fish, Oreos, the kids’ weekend cereal, s’mores over the stove burner and whatever else I can find in the pantry that isn’t nailed down. Not once though have I ever wanted to get in a car and drive somewhere. Or get in a fight with anything bigger than a candy bar wrapper.

@Jett129 we wouldn't be Germans if also this thing wasn't massively overregulated and complicated: You can now legally grow three plants for your own purpose and are allowed to posses 50g at home and carry 25g with you in public. You can join a 'Cannabis-Club', which must be non-profit, can grow plants and give the weed to their members. The idea is not no allow commercial trade. And then the great question is where you're allowed to consume in public, which is e.g. not legal within a radius of 100m of schools, kindergardens, public sports facilities and more. Since you can't really know that, there are apps for it (of course).

Even as a nonsmoker, I don’t believe that we can consider ourselves to be free if we don’t have autonomy over the state of our own minds. Given this, the fact that nonviolent people minding their own business get locked up and their lives ruined, and the fact that prohibition only introduces violent unregulated markets, prohibition simply doesn’t make sense unless it’s something like fentanyl that is about as safe as anthrax.
The fact the America has had two constitutional amendments around the failure of prohibition and still hasn’t learned this lesson is beyond ridiculous.

@Tago-Mago I’m undefeated.
