Was watching a programme on John Farnham last night as I really had no idea who he was and the wife couldn’t believe it
They had this footage of a concert he did overseas for the army and had guests etc
They did this song and to see thousands of troops singing along made me laugh out loud
Never heard of the band or the song before -
Another Phil bit.....
Original
And, what i believe to be, the only time the dead have given consent for an artist to use a sample at the 3:10 mark(feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) - bonus points to animal collective for being able to get a groove feel from on odd time signature

@Matt
Dude it is
another side side story. Like 10-11 yrs ago Morrissey bailed like 2yrs in row playing shoreline amphitheater. A year or 2 later had another show there . Didnt bother getting tix cuz figured bail again(and little broke at the time) and of course played that year. Then he bailed the next night in LA cuz it was too cold outside lol. -
Really enjoying the new album from Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp. Sadly I’ll be working in Germany when they visit London next week, so OTPMD will have to remain on my wish list of bands to see live.

So I was listening to a random selection of songs today and a thought came to me: what's the greatest song that was never released as a single? Not sure if we had this discussion before, but would be interested to hear your thoughts. Strong contenders imo: Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven, Pixies - Where is my mind, Pearl Jam - Black

@Tago-Mago Definitely an interesting question. Some of the more ambitious/longer songs were edited in order to fit on the 45 format. Can’t imagine you could do that with Stairway.

@Tago-Mago Maybe A Day in the Life by The Beatles.
