Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…

The thought crossed my and Scot’s minds!
I’m going to ask him to keep an eye out for clear Walkers for a possible future optical option. They just fit my crooked nose like nothing else I’ve found.
It would be a bit of a shame to remove those gradient lenses though. Such a cohesive colorway with the yellow acetate. Maybe they could prescribe that exact lens…

I turned a pair of JMM’s into glasses and love them. Easy to wear for the day with no hot spots. Make sure you go with Zeiss lenses, especially if you have a difficult prescription and it made a world of difference for my wife!!
She loves her JMM’s prescription glasses now (was a sun glass frame that we put normal lenses in).

I dropped a couple of pairs off with my optician yesterday to be glazed. One pair, the ICU, is becoming my everyday frame. I'm going for an ultrathin clear lens. The other, I think that the model is Clark in white will be computer glasses.
I have a plan to get a third pair, probably the Nixon. They'll be fitted with transitions lenses.
-
I've got the Perciers as glasses with prescription lenses. I'm not sure if they're classified under optical or sunglasses under JMM's arsenal. but if you do like the frame so much, I don't see much shame in removing the lenses and get something that you will wear more.

So, we always get lenses put in and at Black Optical, they’re pretty great about doing fun variations. Lori has the black Squeezes (JMM x Velvet Underground) and they did a brown gradient with a transition. All of ours have transitions on them. I’ll have to do a dual set of pics like @Black-Orchid’s with the inside/outside looks. If you’re really into optics, I can’t recommend the team at Black Optical enough. I’ve been buying glasses from Gary Black since we were in high school and he worked at the Sunglasses Hut at the mall. He talked 17 year old me out of a pair of hideous 90s Versace frames for a pair of classic wayfarers (when they were relatively uncool), and I’ve always appreciated it. He is as obsessed with optics as I am with IH.

The only pair I didn’t replace lenses on was my Frontiers as they have optical glass lenses.
-
Lori has the Taos in seed (yellow) with light green tint that transitions green and they are BADASS. Taos in root beer or hickory with blue lenses is on my list…
-
Yeah @Matt my Zephirin are taupe and it’s a terrific subtle tint to the acetate.
-
Man, I dig those taupes. This is the pair I regret not getting
-
The other pair I reall wanted and am mad at myself for sleeping on is the Donovan in Rover (bottle green)
-
Taos are awesome , had 7 pairs but reduced the collection to 3 pairs that I like most .
-
I assumed for some reason Taos wouldn’t work for me, then I tried them on. Great frame. This was similar to my experience with Enzo and Dealan. The lesson is to see them in the flesh if possible.
-
I want to have a pair of something in rover someday. I got a pair of Yves in it for a song, but the frame didn’t work for my face, and i had to move them on.
I have yet to go into the one local JMM dealer out of fear that I’ll make a purchase at retail price . I also would feel pretty bad using them as a try-on boutique and then buying elsewhere.

I’ve been eying some Dealan 53s in taupe and some green Taos. Getting close.
Dealan 53s in taupe
I have them nice pair -
Got back the Herbie's with rx graphite green transitions. Never had photochromics before, pretty nice. Also this was as dark as I could get them in Seattle today, lol. I've tested them under a uv light and they get surprisingly dark. Also generally pleased with this color being similar to the stock lenses.
