Breakfast in Barcelona in my Fellini beige.
I’m just outside Optica Toscana. Great JMM selection.
I tried in the Herbie in Noir with an amber lens and a Molino 55 in Frost green. They both look great. I’ll post a pic if I grab a pair. -
@Autorotate How do you like your stay in Barcelona so far? Make sure to update the BCN thread with any tips you have for future vacations there!
-
@tody I’m liking it! It was a journey to get here! Cleveland-NY-Paris-Valencia-BCN. Fantastic weather. I had tapas at La Plata in the Gothic Barrio last night. Tomato bread and oil, fried sardines and a sausage bocadillo. Was excellent. Standing room only and a great 9pm vibe on a Wednesday.
I will indeed update the Cities thread. Expect Valencia and Madrid to be updated as well.
Re: Optica Toscana. Huge selection. I’m not a connoisseur, and I wish I was, to discern the very rare models… I just gravitate to what I like wearing. Usually wayfarer-style shades. -
@kkibbey23 damn the red looks so good!

Thanks!! I’ll post some pictures up when I get my lenses back. They are going to be a “chrome” mirrored lens. So a silver ish mirrored lens. Should be pretty sweet
I’ve got a pair of dealan 53s they did with gold mirrored that I love
-
@kkibbey23 I love the colour of those frames

Cool you made it. Haven't been there for some years, but I remember the food. Think it's basically all they have. I liked the atmosphere, having your beer and food among the potbellied habour workers. Hope, it hasn't turned all touristy. Enjoy your stay @Autorotate!

I've had a pair of taos in hickory in sunglasses with the dull blue green lenses that I rarely wore and was considering moving them on but popped the lenses out to see about turning them into optical glasses. Pretty sure I'm going to do this but any thoughts on a lens color if I go with transitions? Thinking sapphire or maybe amber.
-
@pechelman i recently scooped up a pair of Noir Herbie with an amber non-transitional lens. Everything else in a sunglass that I own is dark gray, dark brown and dark green. I typically do not like my eyes to be seen, and I really enjoy super dark sunnies.
But these JMM amber lenses are fantastic. Comfortable on the sunniest of days. And it allows me to achieve an “optical glass style/look”, with sunglass UV protection. Hopefully that makes sense. In other words, I wouldn’t normally be caught dead with non-prescription clear lenses (my wife would haze me and I’d deserve it LOL), yet these lenses allow me to “sort of” get away with it…
The lens works great indoors and at night. I find myself forgetting I have them on. 10/10 recommend amber. -

Nice! Thanks @Autorotate. I had one concern over the amber being too similar to the frame's acetate and if they'd clash which is why I put the photos up there.. Amber is somewhat preferable to me for functionality but the sapphire could be fun though and pick up on all the blue/denim tones in the wardrobe.
Also love the herbie's! I've got a pair of black fades that I put in green transitions that I love. Love all the fine details on the herbie's and symbolism (maybe unintentional?) on them. Also doesnt hurt that he's one of my favorite composers/musicians.

@pechelman went back to you recent post. I like how you showed the different colors at different stages of transition. Awesome.
Yep, I agree, the Sapphire would really make the frame pop. Also worth mentioning, you have such awesome hair that it’d be hard to make sunnies not look right. -
@pechelman I like the amber, but have you considered the Style Mirrors? A reflective lens might be fun and would pick up on the metal details on the frame.
