@AdamJ - you know that the director of our club is a fan first and foremost when he does this in the official match day programme…
-
@Nocturama OMG - this is too good.
-
Think we got away with one there @IH-GARY - can’t say either team deserved a victory, especially given the limited number of shots on target. Your build up play was top class.
-
@Nocturama that penalty makes up for the dodgy decision against Sunderland!
-
@AdamJ - I thought the same. We’ve been on the wrong end of a few decisions this season…
-
Chuffed - a lad I coached (albeit, relatively briefly) made his professional debut in the EFL yesterday, aged 17.
Luton v Sunderland in the playoffs @AdamJ @Crispy-Heron 🫣
-
@Nocturama @AdamJ - looks like we are peaking at the right time…
-
@Nocturama that's awesome, for which team?
@Crispy-Heron congratulations, I had the Millwall game on, they cruised the first half then completely lost it in the second! Not sure I am looking forward to facing Amad Diallo over two legs
-
@AdamJ - Cheltenham Town (League One).
I volunteered as a coach within the CTFC Development Centre, as my son was there at the time. We had this lad with us for a season or so before the Academy took him on.
Great days. We played in the Junior Premier League and came up against teams associated with the likes of Arsenal, Reading, Wolves, Leicester, West Brom, Aston Villa, Birmingham, Coventry, Swindon, Torquay - the one regret being that we never got to play against a Luton side.
Knew it was time to give up when we started to find opposition coaches were ex-pro’s doing their UEFA badges - my football knowledge and qualifications were okay, but not really comparable, being just a “volunteer Dad”!
-
@AdamJ @Nocturama - well done to Luton for their play-off success over us. Good luck for Wembley.
-
@Crispy-Heron Thanks mate. Great tie over two legs. Was a tough watch yesterday, even more nervous about Wembley now!
-
@AdamJ - whoever you play I will end up rooting for you. If it is Boro, well I need say little more. If it is Coventry, well they are cheats: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coventry_City_2–2_Bristol_City_(1977)
-
Thanks @Crispy-Heron. Still can’t quite believe we are 90 (ish) minutes from the Premier League.
Think we will struggle if it came to pass, but the money would certainly help build the new stadium and regenerate the infrastructure of the club for years to come. -
@Nocturama @AdamJ - congrats to Luton for getting into the Premiership. Well deserved. And it shows that cheats (Coventry) never prosper.
-
Thanks @Crispy-Heron - was a long, and very surreal day, but an awesome experience of highs and lows, especially having seen us lose two Conference finals previously - one on penalties and one to an off-side goal.
It won’t take much for you guys to be back in the mix next season…hoping you and @IH-GARY will be celebrating in 12 months time!

This is the way we used to play soccer.
The FA Cup final 1970 - The most brutal game in English football history. Leeds United and Chelsea had a special sort of animosity for each other.....
One yellow card was given........
I love the fact that tackling seems to have virtually nothing to do with getting the ball
-
@Giles that game has since been re refereed twice to take into account more modern interpretations of the rules.
In 1997 David Ellary awarded 6 red cards. In 2020 Michael Oliver awarded 11!
