Thrift Store Scores
-
@Inorganic I have quite a few nice pieces but not gonna photo bomb this tread, here are some of my favorites. If more people collect taxidermy, many we can start a tread?
PS: most of these are thrift shop scores so it's still a bit on topic

@scarfmace WHOA!! those are all so rad. We might need to get a thread going - that suspended bird (is it a young chicken?) is amazing...
-
Yup, young chicken ️ good eye.

Very intriguing! Never thought that I'd be interested in taxidermy...

@GraemeE that's a good score and looks to be in great condition
-
@Inorganic totally - every once in a while the lone Value Village left in our region comes through with something cool

Autechre and Neil Diamond? The thrift is strong.

My local thrifts have been sooooo picked over lately with the boom of hype resellers, and lots of new local "hip" vintage antique malls in my area. Not to mention the fact that the local Goodwills and such are starting to up a lot of their pricing as well. I've seen a decent price on a jacket at a Goodwill and passed on it, only to see it the next day at an antique mall booth for 5 times the price. I am glad to see the vintage tshirt pricing starting to go down again, but lately, I've just found most of my good clothing scores at my local Buffalo Exchange. Still a few local vintage shops with almost laughable pricing, though.
Lately I've found that pawn shops have a lot of good pricing for obscure stuff that they don't know much about. Have picked up a few good scores that way in the last couple of years.
