Crazy Weekend in The NFL,lots to unpack,so let’s get to it. @october-rust didn’t think he deserved to be in the pool,but he shakes off the Rust and gets the win as The Vikings get a last second field goal and win 3-0. What a thriller. @IrishHeart went with his heart and had it broken as Green Bay,who knocked off the Chiefs,looses to The Giants. What The Flock as @scooter and @steelworker get the win in a game that goes into overtime and ends with a 76 yard punt return. Heard the Cawing all the way in NJ. It was a cold rainy day in NJ,and after a scoreless first half The Jets got Hot,leaving @Twistlock shaking his head as the Jets send The Texans home with an L. But nobody was shaking their heads more than me and @pmadison95 as the Dolphins go up by 14 points with,I think,3 minutes left,and I’m thinking,we’re going to get this,but wait not so fast. The Fins go into a soft prevent defense,which ultimately prevents them from winning. Back in week 1 @steelworker had a really tough loss,which I didn’t think could be matched. This might’ve done it,or maybe it was the miracle/lateral touchdown that got called back for an offensive offsides penalty which crushed @SKT hopes for a win. The say football is a game of inches,but in this case it was a foot. Couldn’t resist using that. I was originally going to use The Ravens this week,but started doing the Math. The Dolphins were 5-0 at home,and the Titans were 0-6 on the road. Well as @Matt and I know stats are just stats,or math,and it was the stats/math that suggested that The Eagles would have a tough time against The Cowboys,and I guess we both failed the Math Test. @Oaktavia gets a nice win with no controversy down in The Big Easy as The Saints take care of The Panthers. @Nocturama is now relevant as Brock “Mr. Irrelevant “Purdy and the 49ers sent The Seahawks back to the Pacific Northwest. There’s this funky smell that’s been heading east and it’s not the swamps of NJ,but the lucky socks of @Mizmazzle as his Denver Broncos beat the Chargers. May have to start looking into flights to Denver in February.

I’ll take the Chiefs to vent their frustration on the Pats this week, although, for the record, I agree with @mclaincausey.

@mclaincausey said in American Football (NFL):
He was offsides. End of story. If it becomes about whether it impacted the play instead of being one of the few calls that requires no judgment then we are on a slippery slope to chaos. The line judges have a very good view and they should absolutely make that call, probably more often.
Where they “let em play” is more about judgment calls like holding and pass interference but when it’s as straightforward as an offsides call I say just call the foul when you see it.
I,100%,agree with you,but the problem comes when we as fans,don’t agree with or like the judgement used by the official. This gets talked about on every broadcast,and they even have ex-refs chiming in on wether or not the ref got it right. Something that kind of surprised me was that Andy Reid thought that he had the kind of relationship with the officials,where the official would warn him,so he could warn the player of an impending penalty. He was miffed that he didn’t get the warning this time. I guess that official won’t be getting a Christmas present. Do the officials give all the coaches warnings of impending fouls,or just the ones they like?

@Jett129 I agree with your point. I don’t think there should be arbitrary times an officiant gives warnings or not. If it’s a penalty it should be called. No warnings, no heads up that a player is pushing the boundaries etc. if there’s a penalty, it should be called consistently.

@Mizmazzle yes absofuckinglutely
-
I don’t understand how he lined offsides. They check every play to make sure they’re on the line of scrimmage for a legal formation. Dumb error and deserved a penalty.
-
@Jett129 I’m pretty sure that dude can afford sleeves. Act like you’re on TV
-
@Jett129 great summary. Last time I ever jinx the Pack by picking them. That’ll be me out for the season.
Good luck to everyone still in the competition.
-
I’ll play it safe this week(hopefully), and go Niners over Cardinals.

Yeah the inconsistency is a huge issue. Offsides is probably the most objective call in the game. Make the call. It’s not hard.
