Autechre and Neil Diamond? The thrift is strong.

My local thrifts have been sooooo picked over lately with the boom of hype resellers, and lots of new local "hip" vintage antique malls in my area. Not to mention the fact that the local Goodwills and such are starting to up a lot of their pricing as well. I've seen a decent price on a jacket at a Goodwill and passed on it, only to see it the next day at an antique mall booth for 5 times the price. I am glad to see the vintage tshirt pricing starting to go down again, but lately, I've just found most of my good clothing scores at my local Buffalo Exchange. Still a few local vintage shops with almost laughable pricing, though.
Lately I've found that pawn shops have a lot of good pricing for obscure stuff that they don't know much about. Have picked up a few good scores that way in the last couple of years.

@chrisjohnnick I'm seeing a lot of the same trends in the portland area.
My per-visit success rate is pretty low but my strategy is frequency. There are 8-10 larger spots (goodwill, salvation army etc) within a few miles of me so I stop by one every other day or so when I'm out and about.
Typically I can get in and out in under 30 min if there isn't anything decent. -
Super nice find going through old stuff in Antwerp, astral /zodiac globe from 1975. And the most insane part, it's brand new -
Also found this little gem! It's a preserved head of a meko shark.

I really don’t understand this thrift store you go to. My thrift store has Real Tree camo tshirts in XXXXL and lots of 1990s work out equipment.
They pop the best bits online now, where you can go into 2006 beast mode and bid on the auctions. Lawd knows it's what I do.
But regular thrift stores here still have great stuff very regularly, though... A matter of going on a weekly base, really...
