I’ll add Williams & Graham for cocktails. Very speakeasy ish place run by a 3rd generation Denver bartender. William H Macy was hanging out at the sister bar next door Occidental recently and the Stones went to W&G when they last played here. Had beer though
-
@mclaincausey damn! Just did a bit of reading on this. They are closed. What a bummer. Didn’t even realize.
-
@Mizmazzle getting ready for our trip! We will start with a day in Reykjavik, arrive in Denver 3rd July, stay 4th, then some days glamping in Granby, Grand Teton via Lander, Yellowstone, then back with some Red Canyon and time in Salida and Boulder. 3 weeks all in all. Tried to find out if Berkely Supply will be open on the 4th July (but will likely not have time/inclination for shopping)...
Might even bring some heavier denim for the evenings/mornings since we are partly high up with cool nights... -
I had no idea, but going to a friend’s place last night ran across a second Blue In Green location in Denver, the first outside of NYC.
-
@mclaincausey Interesting this is a 1 minute walk from my hotel!
-
@Tobi that sounds like an incredible trip!! It just so happens that I’ll be headed to Lander for a fishing trip on July 3rd. Then we go into the Bridger-Teton wilderness for about 7 nights backpacking and fishing. Then another night in Lander then back home to Denver again.
@mclaincausey interesting news about Blue in Green. Wonder how Eli feels about that?
-
@Mizmazzle have fun! Not much wilderness etc for me, since I drag a non outdoorsy wife and 2 teenage daughters with me
-
@Tobi if you spend time in Boulder you will no doubt waltz up and down the Pearl Street mall. Canoe Club is worth a visit to see some high end and wacky brands. While they don't carry IH any longer, they have Visvim, Real McCoy's, and many other cool brands I had never seen/touched in person before.
-
@Matt woah that looks indeed cool. Not sure about jet lag 4th July though
-
@Mizmazzle if I were him I wouldn’t fret. Different brands and over in RiNo. Berkeley seems to be a better location for this kind of store.
It was cool to experience some brands I have not seen much in the flesh though.
-
@Matt has a great suggestion in Meow Wolf for any time spent in Denver @Tobi ; I love ours but I have heard it doesn’t compare with the original Santa Fe location. Hard to imagine, because ours is really cool; like stepping into a sci fi movie. Just a wild place and it has a little hidden story you can follow if you have a few hours.
If you wind up way north in Yellowstone, Bozeman and especially Livingston are great little western towns along the Yellowstone River in Montana. Yurt glamping right on the border in Gardiner
If you mean Red Canyon in Utah, don’t sleep on nearby Bryce Canyon. Other worthwhile attractions: Arches and Moab, and perhaps Canyonland if coming back over I70, Zion, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon/Flagstaff, Taos/Santa Fe, and Mesa Verde if taking a southerly route back.
-
@Mizmazzle cool... we had some days glamping at Arapaho Valley Ranch (lake Granby), complete with Black Bear on the next porch and moose blocking the way to the bathhouse. Then one night Lander as a stopover, then 2 nights in Victor to explore Grand Teton, now after a long day through yellowstone in a overpriced shithole in West Yellowstone...
-
@pechelman I will be here. @Mizmazzle @SourPower @Crease ?
-
@mclaincausey .. arriving in Boulder today.. short drive to Denver
