@ddtrash was that Pragnells that you visited? I bought my last watch from them and found them very good to deal with.
-
-
@IrishHeart Yep, you nailed it! It is Pragnell's who are stocking the Laurent Ferrier watches.
I have found them good to deal with. I picked up a 40mm Explorer 1 from them, no dramas or hidden jewelry sales policies.

@louisbosco effin ugly in my uninformed opinion

SBGR305 on IHSH-13
Ever thought of making watch straps of left over denim? I would love an IH strap with IH HW.
-
@ddtrash They are great for servicing too. I needed a service on an Omega, and also wanted to replace the strap with a bracelet. The bracelet was £600. When I picked up the watch, they advised that Omega hadn’t invoiced them for the bracelet, so they wouldn’t charge me. They could easily have done so. Really good people.

@Molle that should be added to the IH Gallery

Not an IH strap (yet!!)

@Molle ahh instead the IhSH-13 hehe… of course it’s not

@steelworker I think so too.

Near an AD on a get away for the weekend. I had previously thought maybe the Daytona would be a good fit for me, but after trying on I really didn’t dig it at all as it felt small. This one was PM oysterflex. Which was very comfortable though. I really liked the panda dial
They did have a sky dweller that I enjoyed on oysterflex but it too was PM and they didn’t have any steel versions.
-
@kkibbey23 Were those PM versions available for purchase? Or display only?
-
I was into watches too in a major way. Spent way too much money. But realised I can only really wear one watch at a time and I want a watch that tells my story so one is more than enough to document my time on this planet. Something I can hand down to the kids to remember me by.
My wife bought me a Tudor Blackbay 58 blue about 4 years ago as an engagement present and it hasn’t left my wrist since. Ended up selling all the others (some more then 4 times as expensive) as I wanted this watch to start my story, bangs, scratches and all.
I guess the same goes for denim. I have two pairs, IH 25oz 555 and Momotaro 14oz, which I’m wearing most days. Still waiting for the fades to set in. -
Rolex sold now.
Love my Tudor BB58 -
@kkibbey23 - The Sky Dweller is an amazing watch. It may be the best traveller's GMT ever made, and it demonstrates how innovative Rolex can be. As far as I know, the least precious model variation is steel & gold. There's no plain steel model.

So, Fratello & Czapek are releasing a new collaboration, the Promenade, with a semi transparent green dial. It's €32k, so massively overpriced IMHO, but is interesting because it shows some of the movement. I've always thought Capek's movement is the most interesting part of their watches, so it's nice to be able to see it on the face side.

Sky Dweller is a technical marvel. I find the dial busy, and with Roman indices, busy to the extent of ugliness. But there’s no arguing the ergonomic and engineering genius.
So many of their watches would look so much better if they weren’t in love with the smell of their own farts. Cut down on the unnecessary text!
