hook deck jacket is lovely but i understand why people may prefer a sea-washed version.
the celluloid waterproof layer means that when you move around there is a crumpling paper noise.
crumpling noise nearly a thing of the past after a week's wear.
such a lovely jacket.

Anyone know what the sizing is like on these? Do you go for your true chest size?

nice one babyknight. i know the buzz version as being very luxurious in terms of sheer depth of melton but from photos i'd presumed the mccoy longer and indeed more fitted.

Thanks for the kind comments. This peacoat is a reproduction of the pre-WWII U.S. Navy jacket whereas I don't think that the IH peacoat is intended to replicate any specific model. This one is made of 36 oz Melton wool, very tightly woven. I saw the pictures of the IH peacoat on the Forum and wanted to get it, but it sold out too fast so I did some searching and this was the one I liked the best. It is really nice when you see it up close.
I take an L or XL in my IH shirts and I got this jacket in tag size 40. The shoulders are probably as narrow as I could go (I tried it on with the IHSH-64 and it was fine) and the chest measurement is perfect. Here are a couple more shots:
