We know you love IH, but where do you think we can improve?

Not taking the VAT off an ex-EU Iron Heart Germany order is an interesting, negative change.
-
@JerkStore Consistent pricing is an Iron Heart International policy.
Note that Iron Heart Germany now offers free shipping to non-EU countries on orders over 200 euros.
-
@JerkStore had this recently, but then I get charged GST again when it arrives into my country as the VAT amount isn't stated on the invoice.
not sure where the differences lie between IHUK and IH-Germany in terms of shipping procedures. I'm happy to pay some form of VAT but not double.
-
Iron Heart Germany are following our global pricing policy.
We had a choice when determining our pricing policy either to price high and refund VAT for non UK/EU customers or price lower and not refund the VAT.
We decided on balance that having our retail price as low as possible and the same for all our customers worldwide was the simplest approach.

Has a decision been made regarding upsizing the work shirt buttons?
-
any chance of making more work shirts with snapon buttons ,you mainly only do them on the western shirts, it would be nice to see more on the work shirts.
-
@Mike_Lima_Papa, changes have been made to more recent shirts to try to improve the issue. We are still continuing to test our theories on further improvements.

It would be nice to see some more length in the body of the UHF’s for us tall folks with long torsos. I’m 6’4 and 190 pounds and pretty much have to buy XXL in UHF’s to get enough length in the body so I don’t look like a belly dancer. Because of this, they don’t fit me that well because the chest is huge and the arms are crazy long even at my height. Extra length would help me avoid having to size up. T shirts are the same too, too short even in the long sizing.
I also agree with the previous poster that it would be nice to see some more competitive products in leather. I’m pretty sure he also bought Y’2 for similar reasons to me, better leather selection and better cuts with a more modern aesthetic. TJ gets a lot of business because Y’2 and Double Helix offer so many cool products and have good cuts that fit a range of people. The deer stuff is cool but it would be nice to see some more variety in leathers and cuts. Not complaining, I just see this as something Iron Heart is missing out on product wise.
Lastly, it would be cool to see some waxed products! Ship John absolutely kills it with waxed jackets, I’d love to see a Japanese take on this.
These are all more wishes than anything. Basically a dream list of things I’d love to buy.

This may have already been covered, (without scrolling back through the thread), and bear in mind this is only a minor nitpick….
I’d like to see larger interior pockets on the jackets.
This year I bought the winter parka and the oiled N1. I really enjoy both jackets and have worn them a ton already. Solidly built, warm, stylish, functional. The interior chest pocket on both is too small.
On the winter parka my iPhone fits, but it stands about 1/2” above the pocket so I can’t use the Velcro closure. I tend to use one of the outside chest pockets because of this, but would prefer to use the inside pocket to keep it warmer.
On the N1 my phone will fit if I slide it in sideways and carefully feed it down to the bottom of the pocket … it’s a tight fit.
My wallet won’t fit either.
Again, more of a small nuisance and take this as constructive feedback. I love both jackets!

Love my work shirts, but the buttons on all of them frequently slip out and are a bit small to fumble with on the heavier fabrics. I like the cat-eye look though.

Yeah, this is a known issue we are working to improve. We will get there
-
@Alex oh, thanks! I didn’t know if I had missed something. Much appreciated

This concerns only the oiled versions of the N1 deck jacket (IHM-37-ODG, IHM-37-BLK).
The armpit material on the inside is the same oiled whipcord as the rest of the jacket. Because this treatment is decreasing breathability, I find it weird that it was used there as the next layer has deliberately the vent holes. At the end of the day, you have two layers of poorly breathing material in the place where you will sweat the most, and the vent holes stop being functional and become more of a decorative ornament.
I propose using unoiled material for that internal part and then external vent holes will have the possibility to work. -
Not sure if this is an issue on the UHF work cuts, but on the western's collar fastening using a very tiny button through a very thick section of fabric is harder to do up than just about any XHS/UHR jeans I've had. At least it is on the 340-OD. I know there's the known issue about work shirt buttons popping out, but I can't even get it fastened on the collar in some cases, especially while wearing. Not a big deal since I only rarely do up the collar but it is nice on chilly mornings.
-
@pechelman I’ve wondered about this many, many times. I never button the top button when I’m wearing a shirt, but I do when I hang them up, because it keeps the collar from getting too squished out of shape in the closet. Those tiny buttons are soooooo hard to fasten.
-
This is probably captured in the 700 or so posts in this thread but coat loops would be appreciated. I have plenty of IH coats (more than I should admit), alas only one, the glorious N1, has a coat loop. A little piece of me dies every time I put the weight of my IH 75 on the hood
-
@popvulture @pechelman I own a very thick 19 oz. chino shirt from Nine Lives and the top button is absolutely impossible to fasten. They stuff the very top of the placket with a thick material which gives it a 0% chance of achieving closure.
All this to say the top button may be more decor than function on these thick fabrics, as annoying as it can be.
